"WARNING" DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPLY MAKEUP WHILST UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL!

A little while back, my beautiful friend Jemma and I decided to have a girls night in discussing life, love and how much we enjoy eating quality streets.

I am not a big drinker and have been widely known as a one glass of wine wonder, so you can imagine that the idea to practice our makeup skills after a bottle (or two) of wine might not result in the most professional outcome…. I would like to share with you our final looks and send a warning that, no matter how hilarious it might be, attempting to apply makeup to another person when drunk definitely does not allow for the best colour judgement or placing.

All of my brides will now understand why I politely decline the offer of champagne at my wedding bookings! :D I hope that this post doesn't deter anyone from hiring me! I promise that I do have excellent makeup skills when sober!

I would like to point out that Jemma does not have a chin beard, the illusion is down to an unfortunate placing of bronzer….

BEAUTY HIGHLIGHT: FACE-LACE

I'm not sure if you have seen the video for Pink’s new song ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’?? Aside from being a kick ass song, the video features Pink wearing a lace mask. Originally, I thought wow, that makeup artist must have one hell of a steady hand to be able to draw that on in such detail!! That was until I discovered that they had actually used Face Lace

The creative genius behind this product is British Makeup Artist, Phyllis Cohen. She is a true artist and I have been a fan of her work since discovering she was the body painter behind the iconic Pink Floyd painted ladies.

The product was launched at the Corrie Nielson Show at London Fashion Week 2012 and can now be purchased online at face-lace.com or from Harvey Nichols (it's cheaper to buy direct from Face Lace and they have a better selection of designs). The face lace designs are absolutely stunning and I'm so keen to get my hands on some!! They aren't a day-to-day wearable look, but they would be perfect for a costume party or masked ball! I really need an excuse to buy some!

14 HOURS ON SET, A TAPED UP MANNEQUIN AND TOO MANY CUPS OF COFFEE!

First time on set shooting for a commercial on Saturday and man are they long days!! I had a great time though, with some really great people and I can’t wait to see the results! It was also really interesting to see what goes on behind the camera and the lengths that the production team go to, to get the perfect shot! At one point, we had a mannequin, nicknamed ‘Dave’, half naked,  gaffa taped to a chair! Kinda creepy, but I guess you gotta do what you have to do to get the job done!

All of the models/actors were students from Bath University and they did such a good job. Below is a tiny sneak peak….
The models were wearing original designs from students at Bath University and styled by Annabel Moore and Sandy Huck. Both were such fun to work with and have a real passion for what they do.

The look for the models was very clean and slick. Their faces were kept minimal and fresh with masculine brows.
